I recently got into a Facebook dialogue with a gentleman and when he wrote “the Dems have given way to the GOP on virtually everything the GOP wants,” I lost it and played my Glenn Beck card, saying I wouldn”t argue with idiots!
Oooooops, my bad! This man was truly offended by that sarcastic remark and for that I truly apologize.
It is frustrating, however, for both sides when we listen to and believe all that is bantered about in the news media.
Many members of both the House and Senate like the “Gang of 6″ (Really? Aren”t we supposed to have adults representing us?), propose ideas and philosophies of what they think will work.
They talk endlessly about how many votes they may or may not have in order for their plan to pass.
Yet, when there is an actual bill presented to Congress such as “Cut, Cap and Balance,” what happens? It passes in the House and then Sen. Harry Reid will not allow the Senate to even vote on it.
He says it”s “Dead on Arrival.” Does this sound like the democracy our founding fathers may have envisioned? I don”t think so. Why not let the system work? Cut out the ?deals” and ?arm-twisting” and just vote. That”s what we elected you to do.
The cards may not fall where we want, but, at least we”ll be moving forward. If that bill does not pass both houses, then present another and another until we get one that does.
All the rest that we hear each night from the talking heads is just rhetoric, political posturing, speculation and downright lies and I don”t believe any of it.
