LAKE COUNTY — In conjunction with Lake County”s sesquicentennial celebration, the third in a series of historic readings will take place on Aug. 20 at 2 p.m. in the Courthouse Museum courtroom at 255 N. Main St. in Lakeport.
Joan Cox, Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Lake County Museum will read from an account written by Alice Green Gnavough about her pioneer grandmother, Susanna Herndon. This fascinating account of pioneer life is sure to educate, surprise and amuse you with its lively dialogue and its depiction of true grit.
Admission is free and refreshments will be served. The fourth reading in this series is scheduled for Sept. 17. For more information, please call the museum at 263-4555.
