UKIAH — After taking a break for the Redwood Empire Fair, auto racing returns to the Ukiah Speedway Saturday night with the Bill Binns Machine Shop modifieds. The modifieds will not only be competing the top spot on Ukiah”s quarter-mile oval, but will be setting up their cars for the next Tri-Track Modified Challenge event Aug. 20 at Shasta Raceway Park.

Kelseyville”s Eric Johnson is the current Ukiah Speedway points leader in the modified class with a 53-point advantage over Richard Knight, also of Kelseyville.

The Dennis Furia Heating & Air bandoleros also will see action Saturday night. This class returns from a two-week break and the youngsters are ready to get back on the track.

Other NSRA divisions competing Saturday are the 4-Bangers, the Bud bombers and the Airport Auto Brokers Legends Cars.

A special appearance by the Vintage Super Modifieds is also on the racing card.
