While I do agree with some of the points made by Leslie Sheridan in her letter regarding McDonald”s Happy Meals, I find one point very troubling.

“The federal government has also proposed strong new guidelines for junk food marketing that McDonald”s move does very little to address.”

I was always led to believe that America was the land of freedom.

Letting the government set guidelines on what I should and shouldn”t eat is flirting with a dangerous precedent. We as Americans have choices. Too bad we don”t want to take responsibility for our own choices anymore.

We would rather blame others for our own actions. In my opinion maybe the White House and leaders of Congress, as much of a joke as that sounds, should spend a little more time taking care of things that would benefit this great country.

Getting our fiscal house in order and putting Americans back to work should be the concern of the government, not what I have for lunch.
