The many lifesaving missions undertaken by CALSTAR are due to the generous support of a variety of individuals, organizations, foundations and corporations.
Because CALSTAR is a non-profit organization, we are able to receive this all important support. Here”s a good example: Just last month, CALSTAR was able to bring to Ukiah an internationally-known expert on emergency airway management. Dr. Richard Levitan has given more than 350 invited lectures on airway management around the country and the world. He has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals in the field of emergency medicine and related specialties. While in Ukiah, Levitan gave an all-day seminar in his specialty and a significant number of local physicians, nurses, paramedics and others in the EMS system were able to attend free-of-charge. CALSTAR was able to sponsor this event only because of the generous support of the Allen-Heath Memorial Foundation and the George and Ruth Bradford Foundation. We are grateful to these foundations and others that play a tremendous role in our lifesaving missions.
