Since the state controls the lake bottom, shouldn”t it be held responsible for the air pollution caused by the algae levels of those elements that grow on the bottom of the lake? If an industry was found to be causing the growth of a substance that polluted the quality of the air and health of a community, wouldn”t it be sued to clean up? The state should be tapped for some funding to address this issue instead of the problem being put on the backs of the county taxpayers. I would say the same goes for the mussel problem and its costs. Have any of the lakes departments looked into seeking legal relief for these two problems.
