UKIAH — Jeremy Doss of Upper Lake continued his winning streak at Ukiah Speedway on Saturday night by first capturing the fast heat race and then winning his fourth consecutive main event in the Airport Auto Brokers Legends Cars division.
Doss” feature win is his sixth in 12 races at Ukiah this season.
In other racing action Saturday, Jimmy Sorrels of Ukiah led all but five of the 30 laps in the Bud bomber feature, holding off the challenges of Ron Duke Sr. in the closing laps to win his third main event of the season. The non-stop race took 13 minutes to complete. Duke also set the fast time of 15.561.
In other action, Corey James of Laytonville brought out his new modified, set the fast time of 13.295 seconds and went on to win the main event in the Bill Binns Machine Shop modified class; Frankie Pickrell of Ukiah led wire-to-wire for his fourth season victory in the Dennis Furia Heating & Air bandoleros division; and Jessy Thurman of Willits out-drove all his competitors on the 4-Banger road course and won both 20-lap main events
The visiting Vintage Super Modified exhibition race went to Bill Bryan of Turlock. Stewart Hall of Benecia finished second.
Legends Cars
Doss took the Legends Cars checkered flag in front of Caity Miller, Jim Sturges and James Younger.
Fast time went to Cameron Austin (14.328).
Bud Bombers
Sorrels” win in the bomber main event came in front of Duke Sr., Brandon Verde, George Abella and Bubba Allen.
Heat wins went to RJ Randall and Rick Jelton.
Modifieds
James took the checkered flag in the modified main event in front of Dustin Knight, Eric Johnson and Shelby Helm.
Knight won the fast heat.
Bandoleros
Pickrell finished ahead of Trystan Mucci, Kolby Berry, Dylan Washburn, Sammy Nuno and Hannah James in the bandoleros feature race.
Colby Furia won the heat race and Tim Buzzard Jr. set the fast time (15.253).
4-Bangers
Thurman”s win in the first 4-Bangers main event came in front of Brett Byrd, James Gard, Monte Able, Trevor Abella, Beau Adamsen and Brianna Norton.
In the second 4-Banger main, which was run in the opposite direction from the first, Thurman took the checkered flag in front of Jesse Hutchins, Byrd, Gard, Jed Jones and Trevor Abella.
Auto racing resumes this Saturday with the Airport Auto Brokers Late Models, the Airport Auto Brokers Legends Cars, the Speedy Signs street stocks, the Bud bombers and the 4-Bangers.
