LAKEPORT — Racing returns to Lakeport Speedway on Saturday when champions will be crowned in the Rental Solution mini-stocks division, the Clover Hydro Jammers division, and the Taco Bell bombers division.
Charlie Collins wrapped up the points title in the inaugural Lake County Off Road Extreme Asphalt Outlaws points race earlier this month, capping a solid season of racing at the quarter-mile paved oval. He”s also among the top drivers in the Coors Light modified and bomber divisions. In fact, he has won main events in multiple divisions on the same night a couple of times this season. One of those times was during the annual Deake Lyndall Memorial, which had never been done before at the speedway.
Joining the mini-stocks, Jammers and bombers on Saturday”s racing card are the modifieds. A special feature is a boat race sponsored by Robinson Rancheria Resort and Casino.
Gates open at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 6:30 p.m.
Racing fans are reminded that there will be races during the Lake County Fair on Sept. 1-4. The lawn mowers and Lake County Off Road Extreme Asphalt Outlaws race on Sept. 1. A destruction derby takes place on Sept. 2. Entry is free with your paid fair admission.
