KELSEYVILLE — A truck rollover Thursday night resulted in two deaths, three air transports to out-of-county medical facilities and one arrest for felony driving under the influence (DUI) and vehicular manslaughter.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported Jacobo Mejia, 23, of Kelseyville was driving a 1999 Ford F-150 eastbound on Merritt Road in Kelseyville west of Smith Lane at an unknown speed with five passengers Thursday night.

Four passengers not wearing seatbelts were ejected from the truck. Passengers Hector Perez, 34, and Florentino Leon-Flores, 42, both of Kelseyville, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Passenger Abelino Gomez, 28, of Kelseyville was transported to Sutter-Lakeside Hospital with major injuries. Passenger Armondo Gomez, 33, also of Kelseyville, was flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.

The driver and another passenger, 22-year-old Juan Perez of Kelseyville, were flown to U.C. Davis Medical Center with moderate injuries. Mejia was placed under arrest for DUI causing injury and vehicular manslaughter.

The incident remains under investigation by Officer M. Norton.
