LOWER LAKE — The Lake County Theater Company is in rehearsal for its next production, “The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen”s Guild Dramatic Society Murder Mystery,” a play within a play written by David Mcgillivray and Walter Zerlin, Jr. and directed by Timothy Fischer.
The story is about the women of the dramatic society putting on a play, “Murder at Checkmate Manor.” The women have been working round the clock to produce an entertaining show complete with a murder mystery quiz.
According to publicist Marg Brooks, the audience will see an elaborate set and wonderful actresses as they move through a story guaranteed to grip them and keep them on the edge of their seats. Led by Mrs. Reese, played by Jenna Radke, the group invites the audience to stretch their perceptions on an evening out with the Farndale Avenue Housing Estate townswomen as they deduce their way through the night”s twisting plot.
According to Brooks, many surprises will be in store for people watching this play within a play.
Performances will be held 7 p.m. Sept. 9, 10, 16 and 17 and 2 p.m. Sept. 11 and 18 in Weaver Auditorium at the Lower Lake Historic Schoolhouse Museum in Lower Lake.
