LOWER LAKE — Lake County Narcotics Task Force (NTF) detectives served a search warrant at the Lower Lake residence of Carin Kim Jones, 55, who was contacted and detained in her driveway without incident.
According to Lake County Sheriff”s Office Public Information Officer Michelle Gonzalez, the search of the residence was conducted by NTF detectives, a sheriff”s deputy and his K-9 partner. The search resulted in the discovery of a false panel above the bathtub in the home, which allegedly slid open to reveal a safe hidden in the wall.
Upon opening the safe, detectives allegedly discovered approximately two ounces of methamphetamine as well as a digital scale, a calculator, packaging materials, records of drug transactions, cash and other items related to the sale of controlled substance.
A total of $2,361 was seized from Jones” person and the safe, pending asset forfeiture proceedings.
Jones was transported to Hill Road Correctional Facility where she was booked for possession of a controlled substance for sale.
