LAKEPORT — Recently a group of approximately 40 Clear Lake High School (CLHS) Sports Foundation parents, students, coaches and community members completed a major renovation to the CLHS stadium.

Painting supplies were provided by Plaza Paints of Lakeport and the group sanded down, repaired and painted both the inside and outside of all the buildings at the stadium including the announcer”s booth, ticket booth, snack shack, storage garage and bathrooms.

The group also sanded down and repainted all of the railings encircling the field. According to Derek Butcher, president of the CLHS Sports Foundation “With the continual budget cuts to our schools it”s vitally important that we band together as a community and support our schools and our student-athletes. The foundation was proud to be able to improve the facilities that are used for so many different purposes at Clear Lake High School. School and community spirit is important and having a shiny new and clean environment is a great start.”

The CLHS Sports Foundation is registered 501-c3 non-profit organization with a mission is to support the athletic programs at CLHS. The first “CLHS Sports Night” is coming up on Sept. 10 from 5 to 10 p.m. at Fritch Hall at the Lake County Fairgrounds.

Presale tickets cost $20 and are available at Plaza Paints, Strong Financial Network and Linda”s Hallmark.
