Kudos to Sharon and Rich Baskett”s letter to the Record-Bee (Aug. 24). My family has been coming to the Nice area since the ”50s. We too are appalled at the condition of the lake. Where are the politicians from local, state and federal governments. Do they care or do they forget about the problem when the lake clears in the winter? A sample was sent to Clemson University. Why, when we have the finest university system in the world in California? Lake Tahoe has bumper stickers that say “Keep Tahoe blue. I would like to see bumper stickers that say” Keep Clear Lake clear.” If this was Lake Tahoe our politicians would be seeking federal help to solve the problem.
It is time for the Board of Supervisors to address the problem.
