UKIAH — Two nights of auto racing are scheduled for the Labor Day weekend at the Ukiah Speedway, where track championships will be decided in the North State Racing Association modified, street stock, bomber and Legends Cars classes.

The weekend”s action also includes the final race in the modified Tri Track Challenge Series as well as the Pro-4 Modified series. Gates open at 5 p.m. and racing begins at 6:30 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

To conclude the weekend”s racing program, Sunday night”s boat race will entertain the crowd with a destruction derby-type event, one in which race cars drag boats around a wet track. The goal is to dislodge the other guy”s boat while also going as fast as you can. Cars are allowed to bump, ram or even drive through a competitor”s boat.

The winner is the first driver to the finish line with boat still in tow.
