One would think, after remembering the Maine, Gulf of Tonkin, and the true story of Pearl Harbor, a real President would have said, as the planes struck the towers:
“Not a single other person will die because of this grotesque act of violence. America will not revenge death with more death. We demand the world find and prosecute these criminals.”
Unfortunately, the grotesque act of violence was used an a platform to solidify a fascist state and go on an eternal crusade, like the burning of the Riechstag.
I wrote the passage below and I use it now in reference to the decade anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
The Child/El Nino/Intifada
“I am the child. I am the sage. I turn the world. I turn the page.
“And I will blow and I will rage. My tears will wash you all away. I am the wind. I am the rain. I was before. I will again.
“And I bring flood and I bring flame. They too will yield to my refrain. A crumbling tower, a sagging frame. They too will yield to my refrain. They too will yield to my refrain. They too will yield to my refrain.”
