CALISTOGA — Jamie Henry scored twice on penalty kicks but the Upper Lake Cougars lost to the Calistoga Wildcats 4-2 in the North Central League II opener for both of these varsity girls” soccer teams on Wednesday in Calistoga.

Hannah Johnson had nine saves in the frame for the Cougars, now 3-2 overall.

“She did very, very well,” Upper Lake coach Mike Sheets said of his freshman keeper.

Other Upper Lake standouts, according to Sheets, were forward Bethany Rymel and midfielders Henry and Tanya Carter.

Calistoga led 2-0 after one half.

The Cougars return to action with a non-league game Friday against Anderson Valley in Boonville. Action begins at 3 p.m.
