LAKEPORT — The Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) arrested a Kelseyville man Saturday afternoon on suspicion of many felonies, including attempted murder, after responding to a reported shooting.

Officers reportedly located Andrew James Serrano, 38, with a gun in-hand at a residence they responded to after the alleged gunshot victim called 9-1-1.

LCSO dispatch received the call at 12:30 p.m. Saturday from William Turner, who said he had been shot in the chest, according to Michelle Gonzalez of the LCSO.

LCSO deputies and a Lakeport Police Department officer responded to a residence on Big Valley Road, where they encountered Serrano with a gun in his hand, Gonzalez said. Serrano dropped the gun on deputy”s orders and was detained on-site, she said.

First responders located Turner inside the garage with an apparent gunshot wound to his chest, Gonzalez said. A REACH helicopter soon arrived and airlifted Turner to an out-of-county hospital. Gonzalez said Monday afternoon that Turner remains in the hospital and is expected to recover.

At the scene, responders also located Serrano”s estranged wife, who was bruised and bleeding but able to speak to deputies, Gonzalez said. She reportedly told deputies she had come to the residence with Turner to retrieve personal items and Serrano eventually showed up and an argument ensued.

LCSO detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and arrived on-site to secure the area, Gonzalez said.

Detectives arrested Serrano and booked him into the Lake County Jail just after 4:20 p.m. He is charged with seven felonies (including attempted murder, assault with a firearm and battery causing serious bodily injury) and two misdemeanors (false imprisonment and violating a domestic violence restraining order).

Sheriff Frank Rivero confirmed Monday that the female victim in Saturday”s incident is the same woman involved in another pending case against Serrano for an alleged hit-and-run in July.

The Lakeport Police Department reported July 3 that Serrano violated a domestic violence restraining order the day before when he followed the woman and then rammed her vehicle.

Serrano has pleaded not guilty to three felony and two misdemeanor counts stemming from the July 2 incident. A preliminary hearing in that case is scheduled for Oct. 4.

Meanwhile, Serrano remains in custody after Saturday”s incident and detectives secured a $1,000,000 bail enhancement, according to Gonzalez. Serrano has a court appearance for these charges scheduled for today.

Anyone with information on the Saturday incident is asked to call Detective Curran at 262-4232.
