POTTER VALLEY — A motorist was killed Tuesday night when her car left the highway and overturned.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the female driver, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of the family, was traveling westbound on Highway 20 east of the Potter Valley Road exit.
For reasons unknown, the driver allowed the vehicle to leave the roadway and traveled onto a dirt area adjacent to the highway at approximately 8:20 p.m. The vehicle then slid out of control and overturned onto its roof.
It was determined the driver was not wearing her seatbelt and suffered fatal injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
