NICE — Firefighters responded to a series of small fires early Thursday morning on the Robinson Rancheria reservation. The first call came at around 1:40 a.m. for the largest fire, which burned less than one-quarter acre, while two more spot fires were reported shortly thereafter, according to Northshore Fire Protection District (NFPD) chief Jay Beristianos.
Two NFPD units and one CAL FIRE unit responded. No injuries or property damage occurred because of the fires. Beristianos said all three fires were intentionally set and the incidents remain under investigation by CAL FIRE.
