LAKEPORT — A judge Friday confirmed next week”s trial date for a local insurance agent charged with felony theft from an elder in connection with an annuity he sold to a local 83-year-old woman in 2008.

Glenn A. Neasham, 51, has pleaded not guilty to the lone felony count and denied two special allegations in the case.

The California Department of Insurance alleges Neasham, who operates Neasham Financial, Insurance and Retirement Planning in Lakeport, acted illegally when he sold a $175,000 annuity to the elderly woman in February 2008. Neasham was arrested in December 2010.

Neasham appeared in court Friday for jury trial setting. Judge Andrew S. Blum scheduled the trial to begin Wednesday morning in Department 2 at the Lake County Courthouse.
