LAKEPORT — A judge Monday continued the jury trial in the embezzlement case against a former executive director of the Lucerne Alpine Senior Center.

Rowland James Mosser faces two felony counts of embezzlement and two felony counts of grand theft for allegedly stealing money from the senior center between January and mid-August 2005.

Mosser, who served as the center”s executive director from January 2002 until resigning in August 2005, has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The trial was set to begin in mid-October but Mosser”s attorney had a conflict with another client”s trial that begins this week and could run into late October.

Judge Robert L. Crone, Jr. found good cause to continue Mosser”s trial and rescheduled it for Jan. 11. Mosser will next appear in court on Dec. 19 for a settlement conference.
