The RNs of Sutter Lakeside Hospital voted for a one-day strike to take place on Thursday during negotiations due to proposed takeaways such as health care and other losses.
A letter was submitted to the RNs threatening an eight-day lockout to all RNs who strike. It is unfortunate that Sutter values its nurses so little, and the community as well. It”s a clear message that money is the most important thing to them. It is also concerning about the patients” safety and care that will be given during the lockout.
They will be paying to bring in registry RNs who know nothing of the hospitals paperwork, policies and procedures.
And Sutter will be paying an obscene amount of money for them. Sutter Health is a very big corporation and has a lot of money. We are fortunate to have a hospital of that stature in our rural area. But, taking health care and other losses from the nurses when they can afford it is unsettling. I ask for you to be a voice on behalf of the RNs.
It is the nurses who are at the front lines of Sutter Lakeside Hospital and they make Sutter Lakeside recognized for its exceptional care. Your thoughts, concerns and opinions are so welcomed. If you find it in your heart, a letter to the editor would be good or a phone call or letter to Sutter managers would be appreciated also.
