KELSEYVILLE — Just before 6 a.m. Sunday, the Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) was called out to the area between Chippewa Trail and Yakima Drive in Kelseyville.
The initial caller reported an altercation in the vicinity and possible mention of a firearm.
LCSO deputies intercepted Jaime Diaz Rivera and Sergio Ulises Alvarez-Diaz, who were leaving the immediate area on Mojave Trail. The LCSO K-9 began searching for a third person who had been seen at the residence. The K-9 alerted to marijuana.
By 9:30 a.m. LCSO narcotics detectives had secured a search warrant for the residence. In the residence and garage, detectives found 468 pounds of processed marijuana, and on and near the property they discovered 2,077 marijuana plants.
Alvarez-Diaz was arrested for cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and immigration violation.
Rivera was arrested for cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, immigration violation and an outside warrant of arrest. They were transported to the Hill Road Correctional Facility.
