UKIAH — The inaugural Lake County Summer Soir?e, a fundraiser for Redwood Children”s Services, Inc. (RCS) programs in Lake County, took place Saturday evening at the J-Bar-S Ranch in Ukiah.

Around 40 people attended the first-time event, taking in appetizers, desserts, Six Sigma Ranch wines and dancing high above Highway 20 at the J-Bar-S Lawson”s Lake event center.

“This event was a wonderful opportunity for the Lake County community to show support for our foster children and youth. Lake County businesses really came through to help with the silent auction. It was a beautiful night and J-Bar-S Ranch was an exquisite venue. It was very touching and the staff were so very appreciative,” RCS executive director Camille Schraeder said

RCS is a nonprofit organization that serves low-income and at-risk children and families in Lake and Mendocino counties and is a primary provider of foster care and mental health services for children in those areas, serving more than 4,000 children since 1995.

RCS programs in Lake County include the Lake Center for Support youth resource center in Clearlake, Lake County Foster Family Agency office in Lakeport and a youth group home in Upper Lake.
