UPPER LAKE –Tanya Carter scored on an indirect kick in the first half and assisted on another Upper Lake goal in the second half as the Cougars fell 6-2 to Roseland Prep in a non-league varsity girls” soccer game Friday in Upper Lake.
Roseland Prep led 6-1 after one half.
“They move offensively and defensively very, very well,” Upper Lake coach Mike Sheets said of the Knights.
Bethany Rymel scored late in the second half for Upper Lake (3-4-1).
Along with Carter and Rymel, Sheets credited Hannah Johnson and Shayla Ayala with solid performances.

Geyserville 5, Upper Lake 3
At Geyserville, trailing 4-0 at halftime, the Upper Lake Cougars closed to 4-3 before falling to Geyserville.
Juan Rojas, who moved into the midfield in the second half and sparked the Cougars, scored midway through the second half to cut the Bronchos” lead to one.
“I thought we were going to catch them,” Upper Lake coach Kyle Moore said.
Geyserville pushed ahead 5-3 with five mintues remaining.
Jesus Martinez and Angel Hernandez also scored for Upper Lake (1-6).
