I have been a resident of Lake County for about three years. I have a couple of concerns regarding the parks in Lake County, especially the ones on Highway 20. I live in Lucerne and it is my understanding that the parks are supposed to be safe. They are not safe.
For instance on Sept. 6 my fiance and I took our 14-month-old and our 26-month-old to the park across the street from Foster Freeze and while we were there we experienced a great deal of fear.
We were there not even 20 minutes when our 26-month-old daughter squeezed herself through the fencing and was running toward the lake.
I think the county should put up better fences around all parks so little ones don”t get out and get hurt. The other concern is that on Sept. 10 we had again taken our kids to the same park and once again our 26-month-old daughter ran out of the park squeezed through the fencing nearest to the highway.
Now I”m pretty sure what you maybe thinking, that I just need to watch my kids more carefully. But in this case, that”s not the case. We were, but our daughter is so mischievous and very sneaky like most 26-month-old children are. I think that all parks close to highway 20 or close to the lake should have better fencing and gates on them.
So please make a note that the parks of Lake County need to be a lot more safe then they are, because we want our future to be bright. So let”s help keep all our little futures safe.
