KELSEYVILLE — Jorge Garcia scored just 30 seconds into the game and the Kelseyville Knights rolled past the Middletown Mustangs 6-0 in a North Central League I varsity boys” soccer game Tuesday in Kelseyville.
Cristian Macias had a goal and an assist for the Knights (3-2 league, 5-4 overall) while Oscar Martinez added two second-half insurance goals. Wences Rojas scored in the first half as Kelseyville went into halftime leading 3-0.
“We wanted to come out strong and make a cushion for ourselves so we could play everybody,” Kelseyville coach Eduardo Ledesma said. “I have a big roster.”
Kelseyville did empty its bench in the second half and even got some help from the Mustangs, who accidentally knocked in the Knights” final goal of the game.
“I thought we played a very decent first half,” Middletown coach Chuck Rannells said. “They just outmuscled us.”
Rannells said he was impressed with the play of Joseph Foster on defense and Tyler Holt on offense.
