CLEARLAKE — An alleged felon with outstanding warrants was arrested Tuesday after being spotted by an off-duty Clearlake Police Department (CPD) officer.

Roger Vigil was taken into CPD custody Tuesday night after being spotted inside a business in Clearlake.

During a search of his person, CPD officers discovered a controlled substance.

Vigil was charged with possession of a controlled substance and for outstanding warrants. He was transported to and booked into the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility.

CLEARLAKE — A probation search of a Clearlake woman by the Sheriff”s Narcotics Task Force resulted in two felony arrests, the seizure of approximately a quarter of an ounce of methamphetamine and sales paraphernalia and the seizure of cash for asset forfeiture.

On Tuesday morning at approximately 9:20 a.m., narcotics detectives conducted a probation search at the Lilac Avenue home of Rachel Faye Tavares, 43.

Tavares was on formal felony probation for a prior narcotics conviction. Tavares and Michelle Rae Rush, 37, of Clearlake, were both detained without incident during the search.

While searching the home detectives located a plastic box magnetically attached to the inside of clothes dryer.

The box was found to contain approximately a quarter of an ounce of methamphetamine packaged for sales, $283, a digital scale, and other narcotics sales paraphernalia.

Detectives also allegedly located more packaging materials for narcotics sales in Tavares” bedroom. The cash was seized as suspected profits of drug trafficking.

Tavares was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sales and violation of her probation.

Rush was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sales and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Both were transported to the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility and booked.
