LAKEPORT — Madison Wynacht scored three times and assisted on two other goals as the Clear Lake High School junior varsity girls” soccer team beat the Willits Wolverines 6-3 on a red-hot Wednesday afternoon at Clear Lake High School.

Faith Hornby added two goals and an assist while Emily Hayes had one goal and one assist for Clear Lake, which improved to 4-3.

Coach Tony Paskaly said the Cardinals kept the pressure on the Wolverines the entire way.

“We never let up,” Paskaly said.

Clear Lake had a 3-0 lead by halftime.

Paskaly and co-coach Shaun Hornby gave high marks to the play of Jordan Chapin in the midfield and to keeper Heather Werner in her final JV game. She”s moving up to the varsity Friday to replace the injured Darian Ottolini.

Other standouts for the Cardinals against Willits were Crystal Zepeda, Sarah Landrum and Rory Ottolini, according to Paskaly.

Carina Martinez had an assist for the Cardinals, who play at Ukiah next Wednesday.
