UPPER LAKE — Clear Lake defeated Upper Lake 8-1 in non-league varsity girls” soccer action Friday afternoon in Upper Lake.
Savannah Dekeyser and Kristy Hayes scored three goals apiece for the Cardinals (11-2-2), who led 4-1 after one half. Clear Lake opened a 4-0 lead before Bethany Rymel connected for Upper Lake (3-6-1).
“The girls worked really good both offensively and defensively,” Upper Lake coach Mike Sheets said. “We”ve improved quite a bit since the season began.”
Upper Lake”s coach gave high marks to the play of Cougars Shayla Ayala, Tanya Carter and keeper Amber Drake, and to Clear Lake”s Nadine Bradley.
Shayla Wyman had an assist for Upper Lake.
