UKIAH — Madison Wynacht scored in the first half to give the Clear Lake Cardinals a 1-0 lead, but the Ukiah Wildcats rallied for a 5-1 victory in a non-league junior varsity girls” soccer game Wednesday in Ukiah.
Emily Hayes had the assist on Wynacht”s goal.
Ukiah came back to take a 2-1 halftime lead. The Wildcats added three insurance goals in the second half.
Clear Lake (3-4) nearly had a second goal, but the shot by Hayes was disallowed.
“It was a bad call,” Clear Lake coach Tony Paskaly said.
Erica Phillips made her first start at keeper for the Cardinals, replacing Heather Werner, who has moved up to the varsity.
“She did a fantastic job,” Paskaly said.
Other Clear Lake standouts were Sarah Landrum, Jordan Chapin and Carina Martinez, according to Paskaly.
“Our girls are doing fine,” Paskaly said.
