Congratulations to Director of Public Services Kim Clymire. A hiking and sightseeing trail such as this has been needed for quite awhile now. Some of the most spectacular views and locations will now be open to the public. Mount Konocti has hundreds of hand-cut trails. Please watch out on the trails. You will encounter cougar, deer, scorpions and an occasional wild bee swarm. Also while on these trails, watch your step. Several of these trails are rugged and may go to some height. Dangers of falling are all around.
As Clymire has expressed, some of this area is private property. Respect the property owners for them allowing part passing.
One last thing I would like to say is that I was one of the original founding members of the Konocti Foundation. If there are any current active members, I would like to hear from them about any updates since I had to give up the hiking for health reasons.
