In response to Mandy Feder”s column “The music made them do it,” is that I agree with her point of view that the teens convicted of the three counts of manslaughter were wrongfully convicted for the murders and I believe they deserve some type of compensation for the many years they were incarcerated.
With advancements in DNA testing, the men were tested and found to have no relation to the murders.
On Aug. 19 all three men entered Alford pleas, which allow them to assert their innocence while acknowledging that prosecutors have enough evidence to convict them and they were released after 18 years of incarceration. Reading this commentary makes me think that judges and federal officials make mistakes in the courtroom, but nobody is perfect and the three men were convicted of something they didn”t even commit. So think to yourself, “What would happen if this were me?”
