FORT BRAGG — Emily Hayes had a hat trick in Clear Lake”s 6-4 loss to the Fort Bragg Timberwolves in a junior varsity girls” soccer game on Wednesday afternoon in Fort Bragg.

The Cardinals actually met a reinforced Fort Bragg team, which supplemented its JV roster with three varsity players.

“Our girls played super,” Clear Lake co-coach Tony Paskaly said. “It was a good challenge for them.”

Fort Bragg led 4-2 after one half.

“The girls came out and were sluggish in the first half,” Paskaly said. “We did a much better job in the second half.”

In addition to her three goals, Hayes picked up an assist on Madison Wynacht”s goal. She also backed up the Clear Lake keeper twice, deflecting a pair of Fort Bragg shots.
