SANTA ROSA — Upper Lake”s Jared Wade finished with 16 seconds to spare on Thursday, winning the varsity boys” race during a Coastal Mountain Conference cross country meet at the 3.05-mile Spring Lake course in Santa Rosa.

Wade posted a time of 18 minutes, 26 seconds.

“He”s been running real good intervals and been having real good practices,” Upper Lake coach John Woods said.

Upper Lake beat an incomplete Rincon Valley team while Mid-dletown defeated St. Helena 25-32.

Nick Davison of Upper Lake was second in 18:42. Ian Bright (18:56) finished sixth for Middletown.

In the varsity girls” race, Madison Provost of Rincon Valley topped the field in 21:21. Middletown”s Tory Roderick came in fourth at 24:03 and Tonya Bennett of Upper Lake was fifth in 24:09.

Giovanni Bautista of Upper Lake won the junior varsity boys” race in 20:27, 13 seconds faster than runner-up Brandon Lovrin, also of Upper Lake. Middletown”s Jake Tangerman came in third in 21:32.
