SANTA ROSA — The Upper Lake Cougars put up a battle before falling 4-2 to Rincon Valley Christian in a non-league varsity girls” soccer game Friday in Santa Rosa.
“Everybody did very, very well tonight,” Upper Lake coach Mike Sheets said.
Shayla Wyman and Daisy Beltran scored for the Cougars (3-8-1). Keeper Amber Drake had 15 saves.
“The sportsmanship for both teams was excellent,” Sheets said.
Rincon Valley led 3-1 after one half.
Upper Lake travels to Petaluma for a league game with St. Vincent on Tuesday. The Cougars return home Thursday to play St. Vincent again.
