LAKE COUNTY — A two-vehicle collision occurred on the Hopland grade portion of Highway 175 near the St. Mary”s Catholic Church Cemetery Tuesday evening at approximately 5:55 p.m. According to California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Crutcher, a white Ford Mustang was heading eastbound toward Lakeport and a red Toyota was heading westbound. A crest in the road made it difficult for the two drivers to see each other. The driver of the Mustang began to turn left into the cemetery and the driver of the Toyota slammed on the brakes, hitting the Mustang. The drivers were the sole occupants of the vehicles and were not injured. It was determined the driver of the Toyota was drinking and he was arrested on suspicion of DUI, according to Crutcher. He was not deemed at fault for the collision. The incident is under investigation.
