Combining bus barns sounds like a no-brainer. Just imagine how much more could be saved and redirected to students by mandating a Lake Unified School District.
I pitched this idea awhile back and was told Upper Lake teachers wouldn”t agree to a uniform pay scale because they are paid so much more than any other district staff. Really? I mean, come on, Napa Valley Unified has 32 fine schools, with one set on highly paid administrators, while Lucerne Unified has one school.
School district consolidation should be the next step and a no-brainer for our small, financially-strapped county.
