KELSEYVILLE — Local law enforcement arrested Ronald James Blesio Sunday night, more than four months after the Nice resident allegedly stabbed two men at the Lakeport Shell gas station and fled the scene.

“I”m very happy that he was taken into custody without any incident,” Lakeport Police Chief Brad Rasmussen said.

Blesio, 34, at-large since June 12, was wanted for four felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon and two felony charges of battery against a person causing serious bodily injury.

Rasmussen reported that one of the two stabbing victims is still receiving treatment for his injuries.

A Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) sergeant located Blesio after a traffic stop Sunday night.

The sergeant, assigned to Special Enforcement Detail (SED), stopped a Toyota SUV for an equipment violation at 9:30 p.m. on Soda Bay Road near Eastlake Drive in Kelseyville, according to LCSO Capt. James Bauman.

Blesio jumped out of the vehicle as soon as it pulled over and led the sergeant on a 50-yard chase on foot, Bauman said. The sergeant caught and apprehended Blesio, Bauman said.

The sergeant returned with Blesio to the scene of the original traffic stop and found a glass meth pipe in the area, Bauman said.

Authorities claim the driver, Kenneth A. Lakatos, 48, of Petaluma, threw the pipe from the SUV while the sergeant was chasing Blesio. Both men were transported to the Hill Road Correctional Facility.

Blesio was booked for resisting arrest and five total warrants for pending cases involving narcotics, weapons and assault charges.

Lakatos was booked for possession of narcotics paraphernalia, attempting to conceal or destroy evidence and driving on a suspended license.
