LAKE COUNTY ? While the November election is less than two weeks away, several potential candidates for County Supervisor offices, which will be voted on next June, have already indicated intent to run.
Supervisors for districts 1, 4 and 5 will be up for election on the June 5 ballot, and as of Wednesday, the three current office holders and one challenger have filed a “Candidate Intention Statement” with the County Registrar of Voters.
Supervisors Rob Brown and Jim Comstock turned in their forms in late September and District 4 Supervisor Anthony Farrington filed on Oct. 13.
Kelseyville resident Joan Moss, a self-described advocate and freelance journalist, submitted the intention statement on Oct. 4, indicating her desire to run against Brown.
The state requires possible candidates to file the intent form before collecting campaign contributions.
Candidacy for the June election will not become official until the nomination period, which runs from Feb. 13 to March 9, according to Registrar of Voters Diane Fridley. Those interested would have to submit a declaration of candidacy during that timeframe.
