LAKEPORT — A man who eluded authorities for more than four months after being accused of stabbing two men at the Lakeport Shell gas station appeared in court Monday.
Ronald James Blesio, 34, faces four counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of felony battery against a person causing serious bodily injury for the June 12 incident.
The Lakeport Police Department (LPD) sought Blesio since that day but he remained at-large until Oct. 23 when a Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) sergeant located him after a traffic stop in Kelseyville. Blesio did not enter a plea in the stabbing case Monday because he is trying to retain a private attorney. He has six pending criminal cases following his arrest nearly 10 days ago. He faces one misdemeanor for allegedly resisting the LCSO sergeant on Oct. 23, two more misdemeanors (false registration and possession of drug paraphernalia) for a May 10 incident and three misdemeanors (battery, disturbing the peace and possessing a switch blade) for alleged actions in April.
The prosecution alleges he violated the probation of a February 2010 conviction of misdemeanor resisting an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia. Blesio is a co-defendant in the sixth case in which he faces felony charges of cultivation and transportation of marijuana.
His co-defendant in the marijuana case, Cathi Larae Larson, 44, also appeared in court Monday. The LPD sought Larson in June because officers believed she assisted Blesio after he fled from the gas station. She has not been charged with crimes connected to the stabbing incident. Judge Andrew S. Blum continued all matters against Blesio to Nov. 7 at 8:15 a.m. to allow the defendant an additional week to hire a lawyer.
