LAKE COUNTY — A Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) Task Force sweep coordinated by the Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) Monday night resulted in the arrest of four alleged parole violators.

A task force of LCSO deputies, State Parole agents, Clearlake Police officers and Lakeport Police officers were deployed in Lake County to enforce special Halloween compliance provisions for convicted sex offenders who are on active parole.

“Operation Boo” was part of a statewide effort to ensure offenders were in compliance with specific parole conditions directly associated with Halloween and its activities.

Special parole conditions during Halloween prohibits offenders from leaving their homes for any reason between 5 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Halloween night, displaying any type of Halloween decorations at their homes, having any porch lights on, answering their doors for any trick-or-treaters and possessing any costume, mask or uniform that may disguise their appearance.

From 6 p.m. to approximately 10 p.m., task force members formed into four teams and deployed countywide for compliance checks on 40 offenders specifically identified for this operation. The compliance sweep included all communities in unincorporated Lake County as well as the cities of Lakeport and Clearlake. By 10 p.m., task force members had arrested three paroled sex offenders in Clearlake and one offender from Kelseyville. Those arrested in Clearlake were Wesley Andrew Hawkins, 34, Brody Lee Pirtle, 59, and Albert Wilbur Charboneau, 67. Gary Lee O”Bryan, 33, was arrested at his home in Kelseyville during the sweep. All four men were transported to the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility and booked for parole violation. They remain in LCSO custody without bail.
