LAKEPORT — The Police Department is seeking interested citizens to join its volunteer program.
The Lakeport Police Department (LPD) has volunteer support assignments available in its administrative and operations divisions, including investigations, parking enforcement, patrol, evidence, records, support services and animal control.
LPD”s program complies with the best police practices for law enforcement volunteer programs and follows the guidelines of the International Association of Chiefs of Police Volunteers in Police Service Program.
The department also plans to hold a volunteer training academy in the near future. Applicants must complete an application, interview and full law enforcement background investigation process before being accepted by the department.
