Tickets go on sale Friday for ?A Christmas Carol”
LAKE COUNTY — Rehearsals are in full swing for Lake County Theater Company (LCTC)”s latest production, “A Christmas Carol in the Museum.”
Director Suna Flores” adaptation of Charles Dickens” “A Christmas Carol” will kick off the holiday season in Weaver Auditorium at the Lower Lake Historic Schoolhouse Museum.
Jon Zarr Haber will portray Scrooge. Haber has been in plays on both coasts, his most recent work in Lake County being the Renaissance Christmas Pageant in Middletown and “Romeo and Juliet” at the Soper-Reese Community Theater. When not on stage, Haber is a graphic artist and painter.
The youngest member of the cast is 6-year-old Diego Brewster-Ramirez, who already knows his lines as Tiny Tim and is completely into the character.
There will be barrels in the theater for donations of canned goods and new toys for distribution throughout the county.
Times and dates of performances are 7 p.m. Dec. 2 and 3, 2 p.m. Dec. 4, 2 and 7 p.m. Dec. 10 and 2 p.m. Dec. 11.
Cost of tickets is $15 for reserved seating and $12 for general. There is a $2 discount for students, seniors and LCTC members. Tickets will go on sale starting Friday at Watershed Books, located at 305 N. Main St. in Lakeport, 263-5787; and at the Lower Lake museum. For more information, call 279-2595.
Soper-Reese to screen ?From Here to Eternity”
LAKEPORT — The Soper-Reese Community Theatre will screen “From Here to Eternity” as part of its Classic Movie Series, 6 p.m. Tuesday.
According to publicist Carol Hays, “From Here to Eternity” remains a singular cinematic experience more than a half a century after its debut, with blockbuster stars like Burt Lancaster, Deborah Kerr, Mongomery Clift and Frank Sinatra.
Viewers are encouraged to see the famous love scene in the surf on the big screen. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The suggested donation is $5.

Wine bottle fundraiser has Nov. 27 deadline
LAKEPORT — The Lake County Arts Council is accepting donations of painted and decorated wine bottles through Nov. 27 at the Main Street Gallery in Lakeport.
This is a fundraiser to benefit the Main Street Gallery. The artistic wine bottles will be on display and available for purchase during the months of November and December. Samples are currently on display with “how-to” information.
All participating artist and crafters will have the opportunity cast a vote in the “Artists Choice Award,” selecting the most original and creatively presented wine bottle. For more information call Judy Cardinale, gallery coordinator, at either 263-6658 or 279-9780.
