Our son and his family live on 20th Street in Lakeport. For the past five years my wife has handed out all the candy to trick-or-treaters and I have been the official counter of every youngster that comes to the front door. Our daughter-in-law does a fabulous job of decorating the outside of their home.
Last year the count was the all-time high of 920 kids. This year we hit the one thousand mark, counting youngsters from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
We commend all the youngsters that we serve candy to. They are so polite and wish us all a happy Halloween. No problems ever.
A great bunch of kids. Lakeport”s parents should all be proud. Our family cannot wait until Halloween 2012 to see if we surpass that 1,000 mark.
