NAPA COUNTY — California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to a solo-vehicle crash where a woman”s arm was reported severed.
The crash occurred along Highway 29 north of Tubbs Lane Thursday night, according to a CHP news release. The car was headed southbound on Highway 29 when the driver reported the car lost traction and left the roadway. The right side of the vehicle hit the rock embankment on the west roadway edge of the highway.
The woman passenger had her arm sticking out the passenger window, which struck the rock embankment.
The driver drove the woman to the Middletown CAL FIRE station and contacted paramedics. CAL FIRE personnel rendered aid to the woman until she was flown by REACH air ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
