KELSEYVILLE — The service of a bench warrant on a Kelseyville man by patrol deputies Friday resulted in felony marijuana and weapons charges as well as the seizure of concentrated cannabis, weapons and more than 50 pounds of processed marijuana, according to the Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO).
At around 9:20 a.m. Friday, LCSO deputies went to the home of Raymond Bryan Dyer, 26, on Diamond Dust Trail in Kelseyville to serve a warrant for his arrest. The warrant related to Dyer”s alleged failure to appear in court on a prior narcotics charge.
When deputies announced themselves at the residence, an unidentified woman reportedly told them that Dyer wasn”t home.
However as the deputies were leaving, they were alerted to a noise coming from a shed near the house. When officers again announced themselves, Dyer reportedly emerged from the shed and was detained without incident.
Deputies detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the shed and searched it pursuant to the terms of Dyer”s probation.
A search of the structure allegedly revealed large amounts of marijuana in various processing and packaging stages contained in paper bags, garbage bags, ice chests and buckets.
A glass jar containing nearly a pound of concentrated cannabis, or “hashish,” a loaded handgun and a shotgun were also allegedly seized from the building.
Authorities allege Dyer was unable to produce a medical marijuana recommendation to account for the large amount of marijuana and much of the processed product appeared to be packaged for sale.
Dyer was subsequently arrested for cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sales, possession of concentrated cannabis, being armed in the commission of a felony, violation of probation and the bench warrant.
He was transported to the Hill Road Correctional Facility, where he remains in LCSO custody.
