LAKE COUNTY — Three vehicles were involved in a crash that occurred Thursday around 2:35 p.m. on Highway 29 about 150 yards south of the Highway 175 intersection in Lakeport. The incident happened after the driver of a silver Toyota Matrix failed to recognize a gray Buick Regal breaking for a red light, according to witnesses. The Toyota struck the Buick, which then hit a red Chevy truck, witnesses said. Law enforcement didn”t arrive until almost 15 minutes after the crash. The California Highway Patrol received reports about the crash but later got a call indicating that the parties did not need assistance, according to Officer E. Cortez, who reached the scene just after 2:50 p.m.
