LOWER LAKE — As rehearsals continue for Lake County Theater Company”s “A Christmas Carol in the Museum,” an adaptation of Charles Dickens” “A Christmas Carol,” the performers are perfecting their roles.

Diana Schmidt, as the ghost of Christmas Present has control of the street urchins who will ultimately surround Ebenezer Scrooge to show him the ills of the world.

Schmidt started acting and dancing in elementary school continuing through college. Here in Lake County she has performed in “Legerdermain,” “Nunsense,” “Cinder-ella” and as Trixie in “The Dastardly Doctor Devereaux,” which she also choreographed.

Joel Thompson, who portrays the street urchin Ignorance, is a first time performer for LCTC. Thompson auditioned at the last minute and no specific part was assigned to him, but as he rehearsed the small parts, his acting skills became so good that Suna Flores, director, cast him in three specialty roles created just for him.

Performances for this production are 7 p.m. Dec. 2 and 3, 2 p.m. Dec. 4, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 10 and 2 p.m. Dec. 11 in Weaver Auditorium at the Lower Lake Historic Schoolhouse Museum. There will be barrels in the theater for donations of canned and non-perishable foods and new toys for the people in need in Lake County.

Tickets cost $15 reserved and $12 general admission, with a $2 discount for students, seniors and LCTC members.
