LAKE COUNTY — The University of California Cooperative Extension in Lake County is presenting the informational workshop “Caring for Backyard Fruit Trees in Lake County.” The workshop will be held Thursday starting from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Agricultural Center, 882 Lakeport Blvd., Lakeport (a wheelchair accessible facility). A $5 donation is requested to cover written materials.
Workshop presenters will be UCCE Pomology Farm Advisor Rachel Elkins and UC Master Gardener Gabriele O”Neill. Topics will include fruit tree selection, planting, training, maintenance and pest management for backyard trees and non-commercial home orchards.
Samples of recipes from the newly released Master Gardener Cookbook Cooking with the Seasons ? A Collection of Recipes will be available to taste and the cookbook will be available to purchase for $13.
